Nurse Gonzales moved to Bisbee 27 years ago from upstate New York. She has been a nurse for 24 years and a nurse practitioner for 10 years. Currently she works at Copper Queen Medical Associates in Douglas, as well as a faculty member at Northern Arizona University in the nurse practitioner program and pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice at NAU. She is married with three grown children and enjoys gardening, horses, photography and reading.

Nicole Chavez is a Family Nurse Practitioner at Copper Queen Medical Associates in Douglas. She is a 2008 graduate of the University of Arizona's Family Nurse Practitioner program, where she received her Masters of Science in Nursing with a focus on Rural Health. She has been practicing for six years and works with the CQMA Douglas after hours clinic as well.

Dr. Gray relocated to the Bisbee area from Maryland where she recently worked at Kaiser Permanente in the adult medicine department and pediatric urgent care. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at Georgetown/Providence Hospital in Washington, DC. Gray received her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, and her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey.

Emergency Medicine physician Daniel Roe, M.D. has practiced medicine for 13 years and joined Copper Queen Medical Associates in 2008. He completed an Emergency Medicine residency at the Columbia University in New York City and received his medical degree from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Roe is the Chief Medical Director of the Emergency Department at CQCH.

Pearlie Wilson-Natal recieved her Registered Nursing degree from Cochise College, her Bachlor's of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University

and her Family Nurse Practitioner Masters from the University of Phoenix. Pearlie has been working in healthcare since 2002. She worked as a charge nurse at a medical surgical unit for 5 years, a wound nurse at a long term care nursing facility for 2 yrs and is currently a part of the Cochise College Associate Faculty as a clinical instructor department of nursing (2010 to present).

Lanaya Turner, MSN, FNP-BC was born and raised in Yakima Washington. Lanaya is Board  Certified with the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She has over eleven years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Bisbee, previously working for Chiricahua Community Health Centers, Inc. Lanaya is happy to be a Family Nurse Practitioner for Copper Queen Medical Associates and enjoys providing care to patients of all ages, her primary focus is on chronic disease management. Her desire is to provide the patients of Copper Queen Medical Associates with high quality medical care.

Dulce received her certification through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in Family Practice and her RN degree at Cochise College in 2007 then started her first job as an RN at the Mayo Clinic. In 2009 she completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Grand Canyon University. She was raised in Bisbee and loves being an NP, her goal is to focus on preventative medicine. She currently lives in Bisbee with her husband and 22 month old son.

Miles relocated to Arizona from Bloomington, Indiana where he was an urgent care physician and medical director at Premier Healthcare Walk-In Clinic. He received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, and completed his internship and residency at St. Francis Family Medicine Residency Program in Beech Grove, Indiana. Miles has served as an instructor in pediatric and adult medicine at St. Francis, and served in the United State National Guard and Indiana Army National Guard in the Medical Service Corps.

 

When out of the office, Miles enjoys his guitar, bicycling, running, camping and backpacking.

Dr. Lindstrom attended and graduated from the University Of Arizona College Of Medicine. He then went on to the Pennsylvania State University Milton S. Hershey Medical Center for his internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Lindstrom completed his Pediatric Residency program at Phoenix Hospitals Affiliated Pediatric Program, where his base hospital was Maricopa County Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.

Panayiotis Ellinas, MD

Dr. Panayiotis Ellinas is a general practitioner who has been on the staff of Copper Queen Medical Associates since 2006. He has also served on the staff of the University of Arizona – College of Medicine and as the medical director of the Cochise County Health Department. Prior to coming to this area he served in the U.S. Army reserve Medical Corps, in Baghdad, Iraq. His education includes a master’s degree in public health, a medical doctorate from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and a residency at St. Barnabas in New Jersey. He was senior resident in University Medical Center in Tucson, with an emphasis on preventive medicine.

Dr. Kathleen Vedock is the former Chief of Immunizations at the Keller Army Community Hospital at the campus of the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY, where she also served as a pediatrician and Medical Evaluation Board physician. She received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and her Pediatric Residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. Vedock is a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatricians.

Kathy Griesemer began her medical career at Cochise College and earned her BSN degree at the University of Arizona. She has had extensive additional education in trauma care, and served as director of nursing services at Copper Queen Community Hospital. She returned to school in 1997 to receive her education as a Physician Assistant at the University of North Dakota. She is board certified. Griesemer has worked as a Physician Assistant in the hospital’s emergency room and for the last nine years in the Rural Health Clinic.

Dr. Jose Romo, Copper Queen Medical Associate’s Board Certified Surgeon, has been in medical practice in Douglas since 1976. He is one of the most experienced surgeons in the area, with a history of providing clinical care to patients on both sides of the border. His tenacity in staying in the area reflects his personal decision to serve patients locally, so that families can be close by when surgical procedures are performed. Dr. Romo also covers the emergency department at Copper Queen Community Hospital one day a week.

Dr. Peggy Avina is a long-time southern Arizona resident with more than 12 years of experience and is Board Certified in Family Practice. She also is affiliated with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Avina is a graduate of the University of Arizona College of Medicine and completed her residency at the University of Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, PA. She is fluent in Spanish and has expertise in the treatment of patients diagnosed with HIV/AIDS.

Dr. Polanco previously was with the Arizona Department of Corrections and the Chiricahua Community Health Center, Inc. During his military service, his assignments included staff surgeon at the Army hospital on Ft. Huachuca and Chief of Surgery at Fox Army Hospital in Alabama. Dr. Polanco served as president of the Bisbee Rotary Club and as a member of the Copper Queen Community Hospital (CQCH) board of directors.
