CQCH’s Emergency Department is committed to providing the best possible care in the most efficient way possible. The Emergency Department is staffed 24 hours a day, every day of the week, by physicians and nurses specially trained in Emergency Medicine. Emergency department care is supported by CQCH’s in-house, state-of-the-art laboratory, radiology, and cardiopulmonary departments.

Our Tele-Medicine program enables a wide array of specialists to collaborate in the care of patients at CQCH.  This list of physicians includes neurologists at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, burn specialists at the Grossman Burn Center in Phoenix, cardiologists at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tucson, Pulmonologists and Pediatricians at TMC and Trauma Surgeons at UMC.

A Fast Track system is in place to reduce the time patients have to wait for quality emergency care. All emergency patients are evaluated immediately on arrival. Those with less severe conditions, like sore throats, rashes, cuts and bruises, or abrasions, are seen by an Emergency Physician in the Fast Track area where they are treated as quickly as possible. This system helps to reduce waiting times and keeps beds in the main Emergency Department available for immediate treatment of more critical patients.
